Stalker Servers Fire

Stalker 2 office fire damages servers, the fire was triggered by an electrical fault. The game might be delayed but the swift response from the fire services ensured the safe evacuation, preventing any injuries.

In an unexpected turn of events, the Prague offices of GSC Game World, the renowned development team responsible for the highly anticipated game “S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2: Heart of Chornobyl,” were engulfed in a significant fire incident. Although the exact extent of the damage remains unconfirmed, it is fortunate that no developers or staff were injured during the blaze.

The initial reports of this unfortunate incident emerged from a Czech media outlet, which cited information from several anonymous sources. According to these reports, the fire was triggered by an electrical fault. Swift response from the fire services ensured the safe evacuation of approximately 30 individuals from the building, preventing any injuries. However, the financial toll was substantial, with an estimated 1.5 million crowns (equivalent to $65,885) worth of damage inflicted on the office premises. The news was later corroborated by members of the Stalker 2 community Discord server.

Mol1t, a developer at GSC World, confirmed the incident with a heartfelt message, stating, “It is true. Fortunately, none of the employees or office staff were injured in the accident. A fire broke out in our office in Prague on Thursday. Even though the fire was successfully put out, one of the office floors now requires a full restoration. Further details of the accident are still being investigated. We express our deepest appreciation for your questions and the words of support we have been receiving.”

Their unwavering commitment to their work was evident in their closing statement: “No anomaly, not even a ‘Burner,’ will make us stop in our pursuit of our final goal. We’ve dealt with worse than that before. This is fine.” The reference to the in-game phenomenon of Burners, tall pillars of radiating heat that can cause sudden and dangerous fire damage to the player, draws a parallel between the challenges faced by the Stalker 2 development team and the game’s protagonist. Just as the game’s character perseveres in the face of adversity, it appears that the GSC Game World team is determined to press on, undeterred by this setback.

Despite the setback caused by the office fire, fans of “S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2: Heart of Chornobyl” can take solace in the developers’ resilience and determination to deliver their highly anticipated game. The release date may have been pushed back, but the team’s commitment to their vision remains unshaken, promising an even more remarkable experience when the game finally reaches the eager hands of players in early 2024.
